Weekly Challenge #313

The challenge at the diva this week is a tile for Earth Day, or as one of her sons named it Amanda day. I had wanted to try out Simone Menzel’s new tangle PRAA, and thought that this might be the time to pull out something organic. You can find her step out here. I used one of my tiles dyed with liquid watercolor, pen and color pencil and a bit of white gel pen.

I also left this little bijou good luck RAZ (Random Act of Zentangle) using a variation of Rixty at one of the eateries that I frequent.

Lastly here is a mosaic of my quarter 4 students first tiles. They seem to really be enjoying trying out this art form.

Weekly Challenge #312

Greetings Fellow Tanglers!

I hope that everyone had a great Easter, and is enjoying the spring weather. The challenge this week at the diva is a Coffee, Tea, or Me challenge, or in other words spilled, dripped or blotted things. In my case I used a tile that I have been using as a coaster at school, that was stained with you guessed it coffee. Can’t live without it in my world!
I kept it pretty simple with two tangles, Enyshou and Jetties. It’s looking like another busy week, so that’s all folks!

Weekly Challenge #311

Greetings Fellow Tanglers!

The challenge over at i am the diva this week is Circle Square String Theory. Somewhere in your tile you have to use at least one of each. I only had my basic supplies with me so here is my tile using, Well, Tipple, and Jetties. I really enjoyed shading this one.

Here is my IAST 191 tile. I didn’t get it done in time to send it in, but thought I would share it will you and wish everyone a Happy Easter! I plan on taking this up to my hubby in memory care for a bit of Easter cheer, so I was pretty literal with the string, and the coloring of this Zia.

I also finished a couple of travelling tiles too. I played a little more with Frunky, added some more Nipa, and a bit of Aura-Leah.

Heidi Whitney’s delicate start using Nipa.

I used some Well and Buttercup to finish this one.

Heidi’s start with Molygon.

Weekly Challenge #310

Greetings Fellow Tanglers!

The challenge from the diva this week is a UMT (use my tangle) and we are using Frunky by Katharina Königsbauer-Kolb. I really liked working with this tangle, and can see that it will be one of those that could easily go into my mac and cheese tangles. I used a watercolor dyed tile, then graphite and charcoal for highlights and shading. I decided to leave it as a monotangle.

Weekly Challenge #309

Greetings Fellow Tanglers

It's a short one today. The diva challenge for the week is to use noom. Here is what I came up with, and I tried out using a little nail polish to darken the middle.

I am using my iPad for this post so please excuse any issues that might be showing. Still trying to get the hang of it.

Have a great weekend and Tangle on!

Weekly Challenge #308

Greetings Fellow Tanglers!

This week the diva’s challenge is based off a recent blog post by Rick and Maria, who wrote about comfort tangles and going back to the basics. The diva challenged us to do the same using our “MacNCheese” tangles. I really had to think about that for a bit…. My “MacNCheese” tangles seem to have changed over time, or at least I will go off on some tangents for a while using a tangle over and over. I finally decide that I would look though my stacks of tiles and see which ones just kept on showing up. This is what came up, Printempts, Yin Cut, Betweed, Purk, Tipple, and Poke Root. These are my standbys for when I am not doing a specific challenge, and just flow out of the pen with out thinking.

I started the IAST #188 last week and didn’t have time to finish it in order to get it in by the deadline, but for what it’s worth here it is.

It’s the end of the quarter at school, and I am up to my eye balls in grading,
so that’s all folks!

Weekly Challenge #307

Greetings Fellow Tanglers!

The diva challenge this week is to use Zingo, a tangle from the Kitchen Table Tangles series. This tangle was taught to us by Indy and Mazzy, Molly’s adorable daughters. I have a pretty busy week, so here is my version of Zingo, with a little of, gray is the new black.

Weekly Challenge #306

Greeting Fellow Tanglers!

This week at over at i am the diva the challenge is a UMT, use my tangle, featuring Amphora by ZenLilyMoon. I had a bit of a break this past week after getting through parent teacher conferences at school. A whole crew of us oldsters with a few youngs thrown in, went north skiing, for a long weekend. A good time was had by all, and we all came back with no major injuries! Here we all are at the top, overlooking Lake Superior. It was a beautiful sunny day, something that we have been lacking lately.

The "Narrows Ski Team"

My friend and I.
I used a ATC that I had received from Michele Wynne, one of the traveling tangles, to do this week’s diva challenge. I did make the mistake of going way to small, but I think that I managed to save it with a few white additions.

I couldn't find the photo of Michele’s start. (Frown)
But you can see it here in Michele's Blog.
It is the top right hand one in the group of six.

I decided that I wanted to try it again but a little larger, and pulled out a tile from Heidi Whitney another of my Travelling tangle friends. This is a sweet bijou sized tile. I really like it much better bigger, and I can see that this is a tangle that will be used again. Both of the tiles for this challenge were colored using the tissue paper dying method.

 Heidi’s start.

Finally finished the last Travelling tangle from Stephanie, at everything is art. I decided to break out the Copic markers and add a bit of color, as we have been having quite a few gray days and I am craving some sun and some color.

 Stephanie's start.

I have found that working on others starts a challenge but a fun one! I do have to ponder what I am going to do a bit, but am getting better at just jumping right in.

Weekly Challenge #305

Greetings Tanglers!

It’s a quick one today, as I have conferences this week that I need to get prepared for at school.

The diva challenge this week is a DuoTangle using Marasu and Molygon. I used a renaissance 3Z tile with black and brown micron, graphite, and white charcoal.

I also finished a few more traveling tangles that are ready to send out.

Michele over at Coffee and Creativity finished some starts that I sent her a while ago. They are so lovely, and it was so fun to see how she finished them. If you want to take a look you can here.

Weekly challenge #304

Greetings Fellow Tanglers!

We have been having an unseasonably warm spell here in Minnesota! We have spent the last five days in the mid to high 50’s and it’s February! I have been enjoying every minute of it that I can. Never fear though, we have snow expected later this week.

The challenge at the diva this week is to use Waybop. I have been playing since last week with this, when HQ sent out the “hearty” Version it. Here is what I have come up with.

Another Valentangle using a watercolor stained tile, red and black pen, red and white charcoal to highlight/shade, and a Silver Gel pen.

My IAST #184 tile also using Waybop. Blue and gray watercolor stained tile, black and white pen, Graphite and white and blue charcoal.

And last but not least a Rennaisance tile using black, and brown pen, along with graphite, and brown and white charcoal.

I will be looking forward to continuing to play with this tangle, as it lends itself to lots of different interpretations and some wonderful layering.

Thanks for stopping by, and for the wonderful comments you leave.
